Mulch depth will vary by the type of plants you have in your landscape and the type of mulch selected is also a factor in the depth needed.

Recommended depth for most mulch materials is 2 to 4 inches, unless you are mulching an area where you want to keep anything from growing, a thick layer with as much mulch as you'd like can be placed.
