HOW TO SEED YOUR LAWN

PREPARE SEED BED

Rake out dead thatch material leaving behind stubble that will not prevent seed to soil contact Use rake to break up black algae deposit on soil

APPLY PRE-PLANT STARTER FERTILIZER

Apply BEST 15-15-15 Fertilizer

Application Rate: 7# per 1,000 sq. ft. – Apply directly under seed as a pre-plant starter fertilizer

SEED MIXTURE

Apply BOLERO PLUS MIX (Contains Ares Tall Fescue)
Application Rate: 10# per 1,000 sq. ft. – Apply at half rate in two directions to insure full uniform coverage (tic-tac-toe grid).

Hold back 2 – 10# Bags to use to fill in on areas that need it after the 2nd Application of fertilizer

TOP DRESS

Apply KELLOGG TOPPER

Apply up to 1⁄4 inch layer of topper after seeding is completed

NOTE: When the majority of the area has germination and the tallest turf areas reach 3 to 4 inches, cut the water for 24 – 36 hours and raise your mower to the highest setting and mow the area. Bag your clippings if possible. Apply the second application of fertilizer (See Below) to dry turf and irrigate immediately. Within the 10 to 14 days the lawn should completely fill in.

Apply BEST 15-15-15 Fertilizer
